Maura Hillen, president of home-owners’ pressure group AUAN, has been appointed an honorary MBE for services to the British community in Spain.
Mrs Hillen will travel to Madrid shortly to be presented with the award by Simon Manley, the British ambassador. As she is an Irish citizen, the honorary award was proposed by the foreign and commonwealth office.
