A pair of British brothers from Roquetas were surprised to receive a special award during the Almería city New Year concert last week, after being chosen as the first recipients of a new ‘services to music’ prize from the city council.
Colin and John Whyman were chosen for their “generous patronage and unfailing support for the orchestra, especially the youth orchestra”, according to music association spokesperson Mercedes Oliver.
