Albox councillors from the opposition benches abandoned a bad tempered plenary meeting last week in support of a socialist colleague who was thrown out by mayor Francisco Torrecillas.
Sonia Cerdán, from the PSOE party, was ejected from the council chamber after crossing swords with the mayor. The confrontation reportedly started over the relocation of land for the construction of a running track.
Sr Torrecillas accused Ms Cerdán of “not having done anything” to solve the problem when she had been planning councillor for four years “earning €93,000 a year for doing nothing”.
