A group of Facebook ‘friends’ took the plunge on New Year’s day with a group dip in the sea in Mojacar.
Organised by popular local character Brad Swift, administrator of the Mojacar Forum, the event attracted more than 80 people – including onlookers.
Thankfully the sun shone brightly in Mojacar on the first day of 2016 and the turnout for the event was, according to Mr Swift, “unprecedented”.
After some ‘Dutch courage’ in the form of cava and mince pies, some 37 men, women and children stripped down to their swimwear and dashed into the water, waving their arms in the air.
