Those pesky foreign types come over to our shores and like to cause havoc. We should build a huge wall to keep them out. No, I haven’t gone all rabid Daily Mail on you, because I’m referring to the dreaded Asian hornet that has been found near Tetbury in Gloucestershire.
The arrival of the non-native species is bad news because the insect eats honeybees which are needed to pollinate crops. So far, there has only been a confirmed sighting of one hornet.
Let’s hope it just got lost on its way and is not acting as an advance scout before the raiding party arrives.
