One of the Vega Baja’s most impressive Moors and Christians fiestas take place in Orihuela from July 14-20.

The celebrations are organised by the Santas Justa y Rufina Moors and Christians association with the support of the town hall, and the programme of main events looks like this:
Sunday, July 14 at 19.30: Floral offering parade starting at the Glorieta Gabriel Miró park
Monday, July 15 at 20.30: Moors and Christians gunpowder battle stating from the Paseo Calvo Sotelo and at 22.00, taking the castle at the Glorieta Gabriel Miró
Tuesday, July 16 at 20.00: Children’s parade starting at La Ocarasa park, followed at 23.45 with the Oriol emblem banner being put on display on the balcony of the town hall
Wednesday, July 17 – 782nd anniversary of the reconquest of Orihuela, at 09.00: Procession with the Oriol banner from the town hall to the cathedral, followed at
09.30 with the Santas Justa y Rufina procession, accompanied by the Oriol banner, from the cathedral, and at 23.30 the removal of the Oriol banner from the town hall balcony
Thursday, July 18 at 21.00: Grand fiesta parade from La Ocarasa park
Friday, July 19 at 21.30: Grand Christian entry parade from La Ocarasa park
Saturday, July 20 at 21.30: Grand Moorish entry parade from La Ocarasa park
