Elche local police have reminded visitors and tourists that ‘free camping’ is banned in the whole of the municipality.
They posted a photo of a campervan owner who had set up a table, chairs and other accessories in an area close to the sea.
A spokesperson for the force said that ‘the correct use of coastal areas means that people have to respect environmental regulations’ and ‘act as good member of society’ in these fragile zones.
