Elche and Alicante are participating in a national government pilot project to count the number of homeless people in their cities.
According to Elche’s councillor for social action, Celia Lastra: “The objective is to have first-hand information about the number and principal characteristics of people affected by the most serious situations of homelessness.”
The counts in Alicante, Elche and Castellón de la Plana were all carried out at the same time on Tuesday night.
