The provincial fire service reported that they have attended 44 car fire in Alicante during the month of August.
Due to the high number of incidents, they have given advice on ‘what to do if you find yourself in this situation’.
The fire brigade noted that the blazes are often caused by a mechanical failure in the vehicle and not by an external influence.
