A 22-YEAR-old American has been arrested for stealing a golf cart and driving it to Alicante-Elche airport.
A National Police spokesman said the man had allegedly gone ‘several kilometres’ from El Plantío golf club in Bacarot along main roads.
Police were alerted by the airport security service who spotted the buggy arriving.
Officers found the young man trying to park the vehicle on the second floor of the public car park.
