This spectacular red sky this morning at La Mata (Torrevieja) heralds a change in the weather.
Storm Alex has already arrived in the north of Spain, bringing heavy rain, high winds and snow in the mountains.
The whole of Alicante province has been placed on alert for high winds.
The warning is orange in the north of the province where winds could gust up to 90 km/h –
and yellow in the south for gusts of up to 80 km/h.
The alert starts at 10.00 and runs until midnight.
