A €500,000 project to transform La Mata-Torrevieja natural park has been announced by the regional government.
This will involve extensive work in the pine forest which lies between La Mata lake and the urbanisations of El Chaparral and La Siesta, where thousands of dying pines and eucalyptus trees will be removed.
