PROTESTS are continuing across the country over the government’s refusal to link rises in the state pension to inflation.
PM Mariano Rajoy’s executive has brought in a 0.25 % increase in pensions, which pensioner leaders say is pushing hundreds of thousands of elderly people further into poverty. Demonstrations which began at the end of February around the country have continued with protests in more than 40 major cities in Spain last week.
