Police continue to search for an eight-year-old boy who went missing in Almería more than a week ago amid growing fears he may have been kidnapped.
Gabriel Cruz disappeared in broad daylight on February 27 in the rural district of Las Hortichuelas, Níjar, as he made his way from his grandparent’s house to meet his 12-year-old cousin, a short walk away.
His parents reported him missing about four hours later the same day, sparking a huge search operation involving hundreds of volunteers, police divers, sniffer dogs and drones.
But despite extending the search radius to 12 kilometres this week, Gabriel’s whereabouts remain a mystery.
