AUTHORITIES are investigating a series of fatal dog poisonings in the La Campana zone of Nueva Andalucía in Marbella. Local officials have confirmed the death of over half a dozen dogs and one cat, and the Guardia Civil’s Seprona environmental unit is leading the investigation to track down the culprit or culprits, said Cristóbal Garre, the town councillor in charge of the Nueva Andalucía district.
Last Wednesday the local police closed down and cordoned off a children’s playground in the zone as a precautionary measure after butcher-wrap papers with traces of a toxic substance were found on an area of open land near the park, located in Calle Jorge Manrique.
