Ronda’s wineries have been called into action early, with soaring temperatures forcing the annual grape harvest to start last week. Pedro Morales, the president of the Serranía de Ronda’s association of wine-makers, said that the harvest had started two weeks earlier than normal, with producers expected to lose at least 15% of the crop due to the lack of moisture in soil and plants. The harvest is still expected to exceed one-million kilos.
