A 22-year-old man on Monday morning tried to strangle the driver of a bus on the Costa del Sol Hospital – Marbella line using a seatbelt. The driver was able to stop the bus on the N-340 and he and other passengers subdued the man until police arrived. The assailant told officers he had schizophrenia, and was taken to hospital for evaluation. The driver was treated for bruising on the neck and the passengers were uninjured.
