The captain of the Russian merchant ship (pictured right) which collided with and sank a Spanish fishing boat off Barcelona last week has been charged with criminal negligence. Two crew members from the El Fairell, a 34-year-old Moroccan and a 37-year-old Senegalese, drowned in the incident. The Russian captain had bail set at €50,000 last Friday, to be paid within five days, and had his passport confiscated.
