Politicians at the provincial council worked late into the night to hammer out an agreement to save water company Galasa

The four political parties which have seats on the provincial council have come to an agreement over the future of public water company Galasa.

The fate of the company now rests on whether assurances on its future are accepted by the national minister of the economy, Cristóbal Montoro. The provincial council – Diputación –  is working on its proposal, which must be sent to Madrid in the coming weeks. Even with the backing of all the politicians, if the company’s accountants cannot make their sums add up Madrid will not allow the company to continue.
