The mayor of Arriate, Melchor Conde, announced last week that the Junta de Andalucía intends to restart construction work on the Arriate bypass road in January 2017. Work on the road, which is at 40% completion, has been paralysed since 2010 and is expected to take 10 months to complete. When finished, the six-kilometre road will connect the MA-7403 (Arriate-Setenil de las Bodegas) to the A-367 (Ardales-Ronda).
