Work started last week on the long-awaited new infant and primary school in the Las Lagunas area of Mijas. The Indira Gandhi school will have a total of 36 classrooms, with a capacity for 900 students. The €6 million project has a completion timeline of 18 months, though the infant school (age 3 to 6) could be ready within five months, said officials.
