FORMER Mijas mayor and current Partido Popular councillor Ángel Nozal has been called to appear before a court that is investigating alleged irregularities in the town hall’s auction process for properties embargoed over tax debts.
Sr Nozal is scheduled to testify at Fuengirola’s Number 1 Court of Instruction on June 22, in a hearing related to the auctioning off of a house of a couple who had total tax, fee or fine debts to the town hall of close to €20,000, and whose home – which the owners say had been valued at over a million euros – went up for auction in 2011 with an assessed value of €368,000 and was sold for €110,000.
