Torremolinos is to do away with a municipal water-testing laboratory that has been operating for years at an annual cost of around €300,000. It was determined that the lab’s work performing analyses on drinking water, as well as bathing water at pools and beaches, is not a town hall responsibility but that of the Junta de Andalucía, and that any locally required tests could be contracted to a private lab.
