BULL-HANDLERS staged a protest in Jávea on Sunday over the recent ban on horns-on-fire spectacles, saying the animal ‘does not suffer much’.
“Everything is very carefully planned with the ‘bous embolats’ [where lighted torches are tied to animals’ horns] and, if it caused the bulls to suffer, we would be the first to stop organising these displays,” says the Bull Cultural Association (ACT).
“We bull-handlers are among those who most care about these animals.”
