THE new ITV (MOT equivalent) inspection station in Mijas is on track to launch by mid-April, said local officials on Monday.
The launch of the new station means residents of Mijas as well as Benalmádena and Fuengirola will no longer have to travel to Málaga or Marbella for an inspection.
The Junta de Andalucía’s public company Veiasa, which built and will operate the ITV station, last week submitted to Mijas town hall its application for the necessary licences to open the facility, and local officials said the application will be given priority treatment.
