GUARDIA Civil investigators in Calpe have opened an investigation into the possible sabotage of the railway line between Teulada and Calpe.
Reports say that on Friday, February 19 at 16.00, a train travelling from Dénia to Alicante hit a number of large screws and stones that had been placed between the joints of the rails in various places.
Although this did not cause an accident, the sabotage could have derailed the train, which at the time was carrying a number of passengers.
