Two people were slightly injured when a small pleasure craft caught fire 150 metres from the coast of Almuñécar on Sunday afternoon. The two young local men on board were rescued by lifeguards in another boat and taken to hospital in Motril. The operation was complicated by the fact the craft was carrying around 80 litres of fuel which fed the flames.
